Prominent survivors of clergy abuse and activists, Ending Clergy Abuse (ECAglobal.org), who have gathered from around the world for the papal summit. ECA will be joined by Anne Barrett-Doyle Co-founder of Bishopaccountability.org.
WHY
The day after the Papal Summit, as survivors and bishops from around the globe leave Rome, the Summit steering committee is meeting to finalize the steps that Pope Francis believes will address the sexual abuse crisis in the church. Pope Francis has said that what the steering committee present will be “an all-out battle” against sexual abuse. Summit spokesperson, Father Lombardi issued a summary of what appears to be the “battle plan” yesterday.
Survivors will present their own “battle plan” with concrete actions that the church must take.
